Marathon Monday, also known as Patriot’s Day, is the best day of the year for any Bostonian! Spectators watch 30,000 runners brave hilly Massachusetts terrain along the 26.2 mile course including in Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and Boston.
The world’s oldest annual marathon and ranks as one of the world’s most prestigious road racing events. The Boston Marathon has distinguished itself as the pinnacle event within the sport of road racing by virtue of its traditions, longevity, unpredictable weather conditions and method of gaining entry into the race (via qualification).
